Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and A Million Love Notes, the operator of https://www.amillionlovenotes.com (“the wall,” “the site,” “we,” “us”). By using the site or placing a note, you agree to them.

If you do not agree, do not use the site or pay for a note.

The product

The wall is a public 1,000 × 1,000 grid with room for one million notes.

You are buying a one-time digital placement from us. You are not sending money to the person named in the note. We are the merchant of record.

• Classic note: $1.00 USD, once
• Golden note: $5.00 USD, once

A note includes a “to” name, a “from” name, up to 240 characters of message text, a color (or gold), and a grid position. When payment succeeds, the note is placed on the wall and given a share URL in the form /n/ plus its id. That placement is the product. There is no shipping, no download, no subscription, and no account.

Prices are in United States dollars. Payment is processed by Stripe. We never store your full card number.

This is not a marketplace, tipping platform, crowdfunding tool, dating service, or social network. We do not pay note authors.

Who may buy

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a note. By paying, you represent that you are 18 or older and that you have the right to publish the names and text you submit.

Permanence

You cannot edit or delete a note after it is placed. Read it twice before you pay.

When the millionth customer note is written, the wall is sealed: we stop selling new placements. We intend to keep the sealed wall online as an archive. We still may remove a note if the law requires it or if it violates these terms.

What you may write

A love note: romantic, family, friendship, gratitude, grief, a note to a pet, a note to yourself. Initials are fine if you would rather stay anonymous.

You may not write:

• Links, ads, or commercial promotions
• Cruelty, harassment, threats, or hate
• Sexually explicit or adult content
• Anything illegal, including any sexual or exploitative content involving minors
• Impersonation meant to defraud
• Personal data of a child under 13

We may refuse a purchase, or remove a note that breaks these rules and refund the purchase price. Founding notes at the heart of the wall are historical excerpts we placed, attributed to their original authors, so the wall is never empty. They are not customer purchases.

Public by design

Every customer note is public: on the wall, at its share URL, and in the preview card created when someone shares the link. Do not put in a note anything you would not want on a billboard.

Your license to us

You keep whatever rights you have in the text you submit. You grant A Million Love Notes a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and share that note on the site and in share previews, for as long as the wall exists. You are responsible for the content of your note.

Our role

We operate the wall and process payment for placements. Customer notes are user-generated. We do not endorse them, and we are not the author of them. We may remove content that violates these terms or that we reasonably believe is unlawful or harmful.

Availability

We will use commercially reasonable efforts to keep the wall online. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and we are not liable if the site is down, slow, or changed. Marketing language about notes lasting “forever” describes the product intent (no edit or delete by the writer; an archive after the wall seals). It is not a guarantee against hosting failures, legal takedowns, or events outside our control.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided as-is. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our liability for any claim related to the site or a note is limited to the amount you paid us for that note (or $1 if you paid nothing). We are not liable for lost profits, data, or goodwill, or for a note you later wish you had not made public.

Indemnity

If your note or your use of the site causes a claim against us (including a claim that your note infringes someone’s rights), you will defend and indemnify A Million Love Notes against that claim, except to the extent we caused it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of New York.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top is the current version. Using the site or placing a note after a change means you accept the updated terms. Changes do not rewrite notes already placed, except that we may still remove notes that violate the law or these rules.

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Refunds

Currency: United States dollars (USD).

A Classic note ($1.00) or Golden note ($5.00) is a one-time digital placement. Delivery is immediate when Stripe confirms payment. There is no shipping or subscription.

We refund the full purchase price to the original payment method when:

• Payment succeeded but the note was not placed
• We removed the note because it broke the content rules
• You were charged more than once for the same placement
• A technical error placed the wrong content or the wrong spot, and you tell us promptly

Email looksfinethx@gmail.com with the share URL or coordinates, the approximate time, and the last four digits of the card if you have them. We aim to reply within three business days.

A valid love note that was placed as you wrote it is not refundable. Permanence is the product. Changing your mind is not a refund reason. There is no cooling-off or 14-day return window.

If something went wrong, email us first rather than opening a bank dispute on a valid placed note.

When the wall seals we stop selling new placements. This refund section still applies to purchases already made.
